Life can be overwhelming. No one has reached "perfection." It is not always easy to put one foot in front of the other. Some days just getting out of bed is a chore. Maybe it is a small thing that is a thorn in your side. Rest assured, there is a way to move forward even when you think you have tried everything or you have no energy to take one more step. You are a beautiful creation that can do amazing things; you are a human. You are the only one like you.

Hope is You

Often you are so busy, depressed, empty inside, drained, and just one more thing feels like it may break you. Yet, it does not. You continue to breath, have hopes, move through the day, eat, work. Your brain keeps functioning. Your heart keeps beating. Your lung keeps pulling in air. You are alive.

Breath in...deeply...feel you

You are the most important person in your world because without you, there is nothing, you cease to experience existence. Without you in the world something would be missing; there are lives that would not be the same; every moment that you exist matters. No one can take that away from you.

Baby Steps

The old axiom, "what you don't use, you lose," is an undeniable truth. You must stretch your mind, your muscles, your senses to keep them from diminishing. Keep moving forward. The following is a small list of easy things that can be a beginning of change for you.

  • when you first wake up-stretch every part of your body then tightly pull your body into a ball
  • smile at someone
  • take the gift of a compliment by saying thank you
  • give a compliment freely
  • let someone in line in front of you
  • take one thing off your to-do list and do it
  • hug someone
  • laugh out loud
  • cry
  • forgive someone
  • the ten minutes before sleep repeat something positive about you-do this for three weeks
  • drink one glass of water
  • sing
  • get a brain challenging puzzle book and do one puzzle a day
  • talk to someone you care about but never have the time for
  • write a list of positive things about yourself and read it every morning
  • give something away

These are a few things you can do to start the change you want. Begin with small tasks or goals so you can feel a sense of accomplishment or better yet, victory. It is best to solidify one change before moving on to the next. Attempting to modify too many things at once or you may get frustrated and stop trying. Once you feel comfortable with your success, try adding a new undertaking. I There are all kinds of ways to move forward with whatever challenge awaits be it small as a flea or big as a mountain. You can do this. You are the only one that can make the choice to become what you want. Remember to take care of yourself first.

Change Begins

What is holding you back?

  • There are too many things to do.
  • Not enough time.
  • Too many obligations.
  • Lack of self confidence.
  • Too tired.
  • Not enough money.

Great suggestions. I really like smile at someone or give something away. It's when I give something away that I find more of what I truly love. Thanks!

Thank you kelleyward. It is often better to give than to receive, but I took a long time to re-train myself to receive. I appreciate your input and I am checking out your hubpages next.

Very nice hub. I also have a list of things I can do to get me out of a funk. We all should. It is surprisingly simple to do. Just think what our world would be like if everyone had a 'slam-dunk-your-funk' list. Wow!

LucidWarrior--That is a great phrase, "slam-dunk-your-funk." I agree with you and thank you for the positive input. Maybe you could share some of the things on your list?

Glad you liked it. I think this will be in a future hub. I am new here but I have been blogging for years. The subject of peak performance has always been a passion of mine.

Thanks for the pep-talk on changing the old and putting on the new life. Your advice on thinking positive ten minutes before bedtime clears the mind and allows it to rest. I am going to try the stretch exercise you mentioned as well. Great hub!

Thank you, Rosalinem. There is a breathing technique that has help with my tendency toward asthma that helps me and also I used to hold my breath so often I would have to remember to breath. I never passed out, I just had such an erratic breathing pattern when stressed.
